Yoga

Yoga Types
Different ages, body types, attitudes and aims call for different types of yoga.
What I teach is Hatha Yoga, which is the yoga of postures (asana) and breathing exercises (pranayama). It may be described as Vinyasa Yoga as I emphazise the link of breathing and movement into a flow. I have studied with several teachers in several traditions, and I don´t see  myself as following a particular structured system of yoga, instead I continously try to learn from what every school has to offer: the emphasis on alignment of Iyengar Yoga, the respect for tradition of Sivananda, the encouragement for openess of Anusara.
Whenever I doubt i just come back to theorigins of yoga, but I feel grateful that there are so many wise people around to learn from.

Yoga Classes
The first suggestion you get in a yoga class is: Close your Eyes. This is an invitation to go inward, to search for your own nature, your master within.
The more you become familiar with the asanas and the breathing patterns, the more you realize that they were already inside of you, that they arise from within..

What is Yoga?
Entering into deep states of trance and introspection, the original yogis discovered that the physical body would undergo movements, postures and breathing patterns that produced mental and emotional states of great tranquility, bliss and insight"
